Introduction
The Ruins of St. Paul&rsquo;s, refers mainly to the fa&ccedil;ade of what was originally the Church of Mater Dei of St. Paul&rsquo;s College. It is a principal landmark of Macao and an iconic monument to the city&rsquo;s history of cultural exchange, mutual understanding, and inclusiveness between China and the West. The construction of the church started on Christmas Eve in 1603 under the guidance of the Jesuit Alessandro Valignano. Nevertheless, its monumentality and magnificence was only revealed when the main fa&ccedil;ade was &nbsp;completed in 1637. In 1762, the College suspended its functions when the Jesuit order was extinguished. Later, in 1835, a fire engulfed most of the complex, leaving only the Ruins of St. Paul&rsquo;s standing, which serve as a symbol of the perseverance and resilience of the people of Macao throughout the centuries.

In the area of the Ruins, when we observe the mottled stone walls , a dialogue with the past arises bringing to our minds the environment of the days gone by. Drawings from long ago preserved the memory of the site, together with the chronicles of historical documents, journals, books and various publications, as well as poems, including the following excerpts: &ldquo;The golden fa&ccedil;ades are vying to showcase their beauty and the soul of the Church fixates our eyes on it&rdquo;; &ldquo;Every pedestrian who we meet at the crossroads comes from the Church&rdquo;; &ldquo;On the second floor I listen from three directions, and the sea waves sound like thunder&rdquo;; &ldquo;Auspicious smoke rises from St. Paul&rsquo;s College&rdquo;; and &ldquo;The organ has the sound of paradise&rdquo;, among many others. Throughout history, it was the dream of many Macao generations to be able to return the Church of Mater Dei and the College to their former glory. At present, the initiative &ldquo;Visiting the Ruins of St. Paul&rsquo;s in Space and Time&rdquo; allows the virtual reconstruction of the Ruins of St. Paul&rsquo;s, recurring to the use of digital technology and VR equipment, enabling us to turn the dreams of past generations into virtual reality. Now is the time to enjoy this cultural heritage journey of Macao that &ldquo;mixes the real and the virtual worlds and can make us travel back in time&rdquo;!

<li>Tickets sold are non-refundable and non-exchangeable to other sessions;</li>
<li>Due to the tight schedule of this VR exhibition with a number of sessions, please register at the venue 10 minutes before the exhibition starts;</li>
<li>Electronic tickets are required for admission to the exhibition. Each ticket is valid for a single visit for one person;</li>
<li>As children&rsquo;s vision is still in a critical developmental period, children under the age of 5 are not recommended to participate in the visit;</li>
<li>Children under the age of 12 are required to be accompanied by an adult to register and participate;</li>
<li>For the best viewing experience, those who wear glasses are advised to wear contact lenses. Yet normal glasses are also compatible with the VR headset;</li>
<li>Activities will be photographed or videotaped by IC staff for archival and evaluation purposes. Some of the photographs may be used for promotion of similar activities without prior notice;</li>
<li>The Organiser reserves the right to make changes and the right of final interpretation of the activity.</li>
